Module 4: Taxes, Duty to Consult, UNDRIP, Education, Turning the Corner

Join Nick Crighton, SCC Director of Indigenous Engagement, for live webinar sessions of Indigenous Awareness Training Level 1: Myths & Misconceptions.  Broken down into 4 modules, each session includes a 1-hour presentation followed by 30 minutes of Q&A with participants.

Open to the SCC membership and the general public, this introductory session covers the history of Saskatchewan's First Nation & Métis peoples from pre-contact to today, including Treaties and the TRC Calls to Action.

Nick Crighton is a proud Nêhiyaw/Scottish man and father from the Waterhen Lake First Nation in Treaty 6 Territory in Saskatchewan. He has spent the last 15 years growing his family, going to school and is currently the Director of Indigenous Engagement for the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce in Regina, SK. He is passionate about preserving Indigenous languages and culture and believes that education and sharing Indigenous history in our schools, businesses, and homes is imperative to bridging the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities so we can all connect, prosper and heal together.

This session is a prerequisite to all advanced levels of Indigenous Awareness Training.
