Trade and Expansion and Sustainable Supply Chains
Featuring special guest Chris Dekker, Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership
This is not a webinar! This is a thought-leadership session where sharing challenges, solutions, pain-points and BIG ideas will be encouraged! Thought leadership is about tapping into your talents, experience and passion to answer the BIGGEST questions.
Saskatchewan is one of the most trade-exposed provinces in one of the most trade-exposed countries. The economic recovery here is highly dependent on what happens outside our borders, how can that risk be managed?
There is a trade-off between the efficiency and cost-savings that far-flung interconnected global supply chains offer us as consumers and businesses ( just-in-time inventory, cheaper goods) and the vulnerability that it creates when things go wrong. Diversifying trade away from a handful of big countries with virus epicenters ( US, China etc) will become more important than ever. How do we maintain the advantages of open and free trade while also building resiliency and redundancy into our supply chains?
