Open to SCC members and the general public, this introductory session covers the history of First Nations and Metis Peoples in Saskatchewan from pre-contact to today, including the Treaties, the TRC Calls to Action, the duty to consult, impact and benefit agreements, The Indian Act, and residential schools. During the training session, we will also delve into a discussion on Indigenous economic development, highlighting First Nations and Métis economic development corporations and the current contributions and impact they have in our economy.
