DESCRIPTION:An interactive symposium for supporting psychological health and safety in our organizations.\n\n\n\nFeaturing a special keynote address:  First Nations Risk Management Strategies in Menal Health - Toby Desnomie\, Saskatchewan First Nations Safety Association.\n\n\n\nClick here for tentative agenda\n \n\nTopics include:\n\nFoundations of Mental Wellness\n\nExplore and gain a greater understanding of what makes up our overall health\, specifically our psychological health.  A discussion on psychological safety and its impact on the workplace.  The presentation aims to build mental health literacy through discussion on stress and burnout\, depression\, and anxiety and how to recognize potential warning signs within our employees. \n\n \n\nExploring the Standard: 13 Factors of Psychological Health and Safety \n\nA closer look at the 13 workplace factors that impact an organizations psychological health and safety.  By gaining a better understanding of what contributes to the success of the factors\, organizations will be able to better predict negative impacts on employees and continue to promote a psychologically safe place to work.\n\n\n\n**First Nations Risk Management Strategies in Mental Health**\n\nGuest Speaker: Toby Desnomie   Founder\, President & CEO of Saskatchewan First Nations Safety Association\n\nToby has been working for First Nation communities as a technician\, manager and coordinator for over 20 years. Working alongside many wonderful mentors\, he had a unique advantage to advocate on behalf of workers in every opportunity that was presented. His education and career are a genuine reflection of his journey towards building awareness and safe communities. So when this opportunity presented itself\, it was an appropriate fit.  Experience as a past National Construction Safety Officer Instructor with the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association\, allowed him to see firsthand what safety can do to help organizations thrive.\n\n \n\nOur Words Matter: The Power of Language in our Workplace\n\nIs the language used in our organizations causing a psychologically unhealthy and unsafe workplace? This presentation delves into the importance of language and addressing stigma surrounding mental health within our organizations.  We will explore first person language and perspective-taking\, to provide participants with practical tools and solutions to reshape workplace conversation.   \n\n \n\nLeadership Best Practice: Strategies to Encourage Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace\n\nAs managers and leaders\, what can we do to promote a psychological health and safe workplace?
